glass beams
Glass Beams is the project of Melbourne-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Rajan Silva. Inspired by his father’s migration from India to Australia in the late 1970s, the project was shaped by formative moments such as watching Concert for George — the 2002 tribute at London’s Royal Albert Hall featuring Ravi Shankar and Anoushka Shankar alongside Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Jeff Lynne.
This spirit of cross-pollination between East and West, old and new, defines the works of Glass Beams — a timeless fusion of cultures and sound built through a blend of live instrumentation and electronic production, framed within a distinct and immersive visual identity.
Following the debut EP Mirage and the breakout release Mahal, Glass Beams built a rapidly expanding global audience, with compositions spreading organically across social media, streaming platforms and word of mouth. The project has since become a live phenomenon, selling out its debut European and North American tours, upgrading venues and adding additional dates in response to overwhelming demand.
