Andy Garvey is a do’er. From music producer, to esteemed radio host on both FBi Radio and triple j, label boss of her own imprint Pure Space, co-founder of events and artist agency NECTAR - she’s cemented herself as a growing force in the Australian music landscape.
March 2019 saw the release of her debut EP ‘Eternal Recurrence’ on cult techno label Lobster Theremin. Praised by Resident Advisor as ‘a confident blend of techno and electro’, the release forms the base for an exciting new chapter in Andy’s career.
A dance music authority at triple j, Andy is the host and programmer of the weekly mix show Mix Up. Her discerning taste and effortless on-air presenting style captivates the country every Saturday night as she sources exclusive mixes from exciting acts from both locally and abroad.
Andy continues to host Pure Space every week on beloved community radio station, FBi Radio. With an ear finely tuned to the workings of the diverse local and international dance music community, Andy introduces some of the world’s most interesting electronic music to Sydney airwaves. In April 2019 Pure Space released its debut label offering, a four track various artist 12” release.
Off air Andy continues to light the fire under packed club floors around Australia and is fast becoming one of the countries most in demand DJs. Her latest European visit in February 2019 included a show at Concrete in Paris and London’s infamous Corsica Studios as well as radio appearances on both Red Light Radio and Rinse FM. She will return to the UK and Europe for her debut tour later this year.
