Since first emerging from the strobe-laden clubs of Melbourne in the late '00s, Mike Gamwell’s penchant for forward-thinking dance music has entrenched him in the consciousness of avid enthusiasts and casual listeners alike.

After signing to Cutters Records, Gamwell released a string of EPs and high-profile remixes that succinctly encapsulated the sights and sounds of the ever-changing electronic landscape.

After 2011’s pop-inspired ‘I Want You’ EP, Gamwell returned with his Tangerine Dream-inspired Don't Stop - opening Cut Copy's Oceans Apart compilation alongside fellow Melbourne dance royalty Tornado Wallace, Andras Fox and Roland Tings. He then released the VII EP (marking the 7th Knightlife release on Cutters), supported Cut Copy DJs on their recent USA tour and headlined Cooper Saver’s decadent Far Away party in Los Angeles.

Gamwell (and Knightlife) has since moved to the UK and released music on Fort Romeau’s invite only Cin Cin label. The record is a refinement of the hedonistic sounds from previous releases, a stripped-back synth workout aimed directly at the space between the strobes.
