Stev Zar weaves worlds when she performs.

She defies conventional genre borders and draws inspiration from diverse musical references, creating a singular and engrossing sound environment. Her distinct percussive and bass-heavy style blends familiar sounds of house and techno with experimental electro and notes of acid and breakbeat folded into the chaos. The aim is body euphoria, her sets intend to balance playfulness and a tiny bit of chin-stroking to create a sound that deeply resonates with dancefloor champions. Her goal is to challenge her audience to move beyond genre to connect with the heart of the sound. Currently based in Melbourne/Narrm, Stev Zar's work spans DJing, production, and co-curation for UMAMI Collective.
